ELIZABETH'S GUARDIAN ANGEL |

When my husband was in seminary he worked as a youth pastor for a church in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Every weekend we would stay with a different family in the church. This, at times, could be difficult for our small family of three to do, but each weekend my husband and myself and our toddler daughter Elizabeth would do it! One such weekend we were staying with a young couple living in a busy section of the city. They had a dog which our daughter loved to chase and play with all day long. After a long drive and a rather busy morning for us we came to the house and crashed for theafternoon! Of course Elizabeth decided her rest would be to chase the dog! As we all sat around talking I suddenly became aware that Elizabeth was not in the room with us and asked my friend if she was out in the kitchen with her. Her reply being no, we all immediately jumped up and started calling her name, for the dog was gone as well and that meant Elizabeth could be anywhere!! Something in my heart told me to check outside, so I ran to the back door and stood at the very top of my friends long driveway, calling Elizabeth's name a couple of times. Looking nervously towards the four lanes of traffic at the foot of the driveway, and praying hard I started to walk forward down the long drive. Suddenly, a man in a black coat and hat was standing in front of me (I do not recall him walking up the drive) with Elizabeth in his arms.He handed her to me and said "take very good care of Elizabeth!" I did not even puzzle over it until later but how did he know Elizabeth's name? Clutching her to me with tears in my eyes I hugged her tightly, and then opened my eyes and the man was gone!!! (I was only about a quarter of the way down the drive) I turned around and my husband and friend were standing at the top of the drive and I asked them "did you see the old man and where he went?" They both looked at me rather oddly and said "what old man?" I still think of this often, and know without a doubt that the Lord loves and cares for my children daily!! scovellfamilyATyahoo.com (replace AT with @)
