WINTER ANGEL | Debi Ingram |
It was a beautiful snowy day in Washington and since where we live doesn't get much snow, my husband Tom and I went for a drive. We decided to go over to Point Defiance Park and drive the "five mile" section. It's a part of the Park/Zoo where you can see the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and the blue sparkling water of the Narrows Passage. The roads were icy, but no too bad or so we thought. We started down this tiny slope and suddenly an old gentleman appeared at the driver's side window. "Please turn around!" he said, "The road ahead is very icy and cars have gone off into the ditch." We started to turn around but looked up to thank the old man again. He was gone. Tom and I looked at each other in amazement and at the same time said, "Where'd he go?" We looked all around and there were no footprints. There was no sign that anyone had been there. To this day both of us believe with all our hearts that The Lord sent us that winter angel.
